Twitter Marketing!!

Twitter is quickly becoming one of the most popular used sites in the world, and a mass of marketing potential is at your fingertips!  I use this site everyday to add followers to my account and it has simply done wonders!  I reached around 2500 followers in under a week! Check it out for yourself:

http://www.twiends.com

How it works...

You sign up using your twitter account and follow other people through the Twiends website.  Every time you follow someone you get a certain number of points.  Your Twitter account is then posted on the website and once you collect points for following other people, they can follow you and you give points to them.  It is sort of has a circle-like effect but it works wonders on your follower count and your potential marketing base!

No-Follow VS Do-Follow Links

You have to be careful when submitting your link to directories and such as sometimes they are not always "followable" links. No-Follow links are on a lot of blogs and some websites as a way to deter spam. The basis behind it is that because everyone wants more "votes" or backlinks to their website, people will spam other websites hoping to gain backlinks as quickly as they can - To prevent this, no-follow is now used. If No-Follow is on a website, that link can no longer count as a "vote" to your site, and thus a waste of time. The only value you are getting out of it is for marketing purposes.

If you want to check how many sites are linking to you check out http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com .

10 Tips to Traffic Generation

Here are some useful tips to help get your site going:

1. Submit your website to link directories.

2. Use newspaper ads to direct visitors to your site. (Not recommended as its hard to "click" on a newspaper ;) )

3. Buy targeted traffic campaigns from traffic service providers (Not recommended but works well for short term traffic).

4. Make a business card with your website and give it to your friends or leave it in car or train.

5. Post articles frequently on popular article sites such as ezinearticles.com and goarticles.com about your website.

6. Post free inexpensive classified ads.

7. Join popular seo forums and make frequent contribution with your website link as signature.

8. Find a blog that suites your website content and make feedback to that blog - remember that feedback should be genuine so that it cannot be recognized as a spam - include your website link there.

9. Use signature links on different forums to gain back-links to your website.
